At Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School, technology
is fully integrated into the curriculum. In addition
to instructional labs where our computer classes are taught,
the library has a 15-station lab for use by the students
on a daily basis. Additionally, teachers and students
take advantage of the campus-wide wireless network.
In other areas of the curriculum, technology is used in
varying degrees by individual teachers, from full integration
in science classes to enrichment activities in other subject
areas. Many classrooms are equipped with a bank of
computers, providing opportunities for individual and small
group learning through subject-specific software and tools.
We also offer an additional 24-workstation classroom lab,
available across the curriculum.
Other state-of-the-art applications of technology in use at
Long Island Lutheran include the Distance Learning Classroom
and the Foreign Language Laboratory. Distance Learning
allows juniors and seniors the opportunity to experience the
rigors of college, and earn college credit, via a highly-interactive,
video conferencing classroom experience. The Foreign
Language Laboratory allows students a two-directional, multi-sensory
experience to expand their global environment. |
